ROSEMOUNT ESTATE

Sustainability is an important part of Rosemount Estate’s philosophy. Rosemount Estate is committed to industry best practice across our water, waste and energy process and policies. Rosemount Estate sends no waste to landfill. We have over 20 different ‘recycle or reuse’ waste streams, for example, diverting some to energy recovery.

Working closely with environmental agencies (including Environmental Protection Agency, CSIRO and GWRDC) and local universities (University of Adelaide and University of South Australia), 100% of our treated waste water is stored in wetlands and used for irrigation of our native woodlot which spans three hectares.

Wetlands and woodlot demonstrate our commitment to community responsibility, attracting  native fauna back to McLaren Vale. Over 10km², the wetlands consists of semi-permanent water and attracts Australian marsupials, native birds, fish and reptiles. It also creates a source of food for local Koalas with gum leaves grown in the woodlot.

For over a decade Rosemount Estate has partnered with Cleland Wildlife Park (also in McLaren Vale). We will continue to focus on re-vegetation to further improve local biodiversity.
